Reduction of gear
After acquiring two new cameras in the past few weeks, I decided to part with some gear. I've been rooting around in my closets and garage to find some stuff to purge. My 70 liter camping backpack got sold, as did an electric lawnmower. Two camera bags and a monopod are on the chopping block too. It has felt good to get rid of stuff. And while I was eager to part with some gear, my Canon RF 16mm lens found a new home. The original receipt was in the box, $299 was the price back 4 years ago when I purchased it.
Honestly, just never used it. It went to Hawaii with me once and I didn't love it. And then last year I took it to Utah with me ostensibly for Milky Way photos. Once again, I didn't love it. Then before I went to Norway, I bought the RF 24mm to replace it. It sold in one day on Marketplace for a great price. It was like new, and hopefully will be what the buyer wanted in the wide prime.
I will likely hold off on any new gear for a few days, hahaha! I would like to buy the RF 200-800mm for birding, and maybe an 18-50 lens for the Sony A6500 since I seemed to be keeping it. There are worse afflictions.
