More gear out the door

I have been on a “stuff” purge around the house this summer. A few closets had some things I needed to sell or donate, and while I despise Facebook, Marketplace was handy for the purge. I sold my tent, hiking backpack, a lens, a lawnmower, and two camera bags. I wanted to like the f-Stop Guru bag but it was just too small for my gear, same with the Lowepro 250 AW III. They were seldom used and were taking up valuable closet space.

A monopod is the only thing left to sell. I’ve not had any takers, a few low-ballers but that is expected. My old mountain bike will be donated soon. It has felt good to let go of stuff I no longer used or needed.

One takeaway from this latest purge is that no matter how many times I try to replace my venerated Lowepro ProTactic BP 450 AWII, I just don’t love the replacement. The Lowepro was purchased used probably going on 8 years ago and has been all over the world with me. It has many flaws, but it is roomy, holds my laptop, and I can strap a tripod to it but I chose not too most of the time. My long chase is over. It took a long time to admit that, but I am going to say it will be my bag for the foreseeable future.
