August competition entries
August has been a not so productive month with photography. I haven't been out once with my camera. The last time I took any photos was in Colorado Springs at the end of July, and quite frankly, none of the photos I took are worth sharing.
Despite the lack of productivity on that front, I have been working on photos for the local club's monthly competition. Right now, I have candidates selected for the next 3 months after this month. This is rare for me. Most months, I scour my collection of photos, then a week out, I buckle down, make my selections, re-edit and then submit on the last day. This approach usually means I spend an entire afternoon or evening working through the selections.
For August, I pretty much did that. I waited until the last moment to make final selections, edit, upload or print. That being said, it was a fun time for this theme -- formations. I ended up submitted one black and white digital, two color digital, and then I will be taking a print. The black and white photo was from Goblin Valley State Park in Utah, and a color photo of a lone spire in Southern Utah, as well as a photo of Diamond Beach (Breidamerkursandur Beach) in Iceland. My color print is of Factory Butte in Southern Utah.
The competition meeting is Monday evening. Here are my entries!
