April Competition Results

Huntsville Photographic Society's monthly competition was last night with the theme being Close Up/Macro photography. I entered 4 photos in all, 2 color prints, a color digital photo, and a black and white digital photo. My black and white digital photo of a bunch of crisp $5 bills received 3rd place, no other photos placed and I was okay with that. I really enjoyed the judge, he was great and offered insight into his selection process. The two color prints I entered, his comments were that there were better examples of macro photography in the group.

I was happy to walk away with a win and some points. So far I have 11 points and 6 wins, a 2nd place selection, a 3rd place, and 4 honorable mentions. The standings are not out yet, but I believe I am in the top 10, but I cannot relax because the next two months are going to be tough -- portraits of people, and architecture. Until then, here are my photos from last night's competition.
