March Competition Results

I’ve been back from my trip to Scotland and Norway for a week, and I still don’t feel rested. I arrived late evening last Wednesday and it was back to work the following morning because I have no PTO built up with my new company. I hope this weekend allows for some rest, but I doubt it. Spring is here and that means all sorts of household, outdoor, and automobile projects need to happen.

While I wasn’t resting, I printed a photo for my photo competition on Monday night. Before I left for Scotland and Norway, I submitted two color digital images and a black and white digital image. I had a few images selected for the printed submission, but nothing really jumped out as a no doubt about it selection. The judge is notoriously difficult, and he loves printed photos from film cameras, as well as photos printed in the darkroom. I went into the competition with 6 points and 3 wins, one 2nd place and two honorable mentions. When it was all settled, I received an honorable mention for my photo from Patagonia in 2019, and for my photo of an airplane at the Decatur air show from September of last year. Not a bad night, but I would like to start placing in the top 3. I need those points!

Anyway, here are my 4 photos from the competition which had a theme of “Open” which meant anything goes.
