Updates and news

And one last blog post for today as a catch all. I've updated the website in a few places, cleaned up the Contact page and the Gear page. I still need to work on the Portfolio page, likely completely revamp it. I don't like it as it is.

I deleted the link to Twitter, or X, or whatever it is. I hardly if ever used it, so I have deleted my account. That being said, I replaced it with Blue Sky, which I hope to be able to use a bit more. I've grown disenchanted with all forms of social media, especially Facebook and Instagram, so I thought I would focus on Blue Sky to see what it's all about.

Like I need one more thing to bog down my already limited precious time, I signed up for Substack. I've not done anything with it, just investigating right now. Maybe it will be something, maybe not. I already have a website, and I feel it is that, except more social media like. We'll see...

The closet clean out continued over this long weekend. I had already sold my RF 70-200, RF 24-240, and EF 100-400 as well as the Sony RX 100 VII. And I wanted that momentum to continue. Walking out the door tomorrow is all of my old Lee filters I never use, my iPad mini which was becoming a terrible time waster, and then my EF 2.0x extender. Still currently for sale is my EF 400mm f5.6 lens as well as the EF 1.4x extender. If the lens does not sell for the asking price of $500, it will go to mpb.com which has already offered $500 for it.

My Flickr page has been updated. I guess I had no idea it had not been updated since late last year. The amount of photos I have taken since my Lake District trip in October should have warranted many uploads, alas, there were none. Several photos from trips to all my favorite attractions - the US Space and Rocket Center, Huntsville Botanical Gardens, Downtown Huntsville, the Land Trust, and everywhere in between — have been uploaded to Flickr. Flickr gets all the photos I edited, not just the highlights I post here. So, if you’re interested in seeing lots of edited photos, visit my Flickr page here.

And the last topic, post processing coursework. This year, I have invested in coursework from several well respected professionals. I've watched and implemented much of it, with two courses on luminosity masks remaining.

Ok, enough rambling on for today! More soon...
