The Nashville Zoo

I visited the Nashville Zoo a few weekends back which gave me a good excuse to test the R7 and my fairly new RF 100-500. The Birmingham Zoo and then the Birmingham Botanical Garden was on the agenda, but 100% chance of rain for the better part of the day pushed me north. I was on the road early to try to get to the Zoo around opening time, mostly in hopes to beat the crowds and the heat. Plus, I had heard the animals are more active in the morning. Anyway, the place was absolutely slammed full of people. But it was still a great time. I had a ton of fun, taking 750 photos in the two hours I spent visiting. My favorite was a blue parrot who seemed to know there was a big camera taking their photo, almost cheesing it up for the entire 5 minute photo session. The flamingos were photogenic as well. Here are my favorite photos from the visit.
