New Gear Day!

It's new gear day around the office, and I cannot be happier with my purchase. I have had my Sony A6500 for a while now, after a quick peek at the archives about a year now. And I just haven't used it enough to warrant keeping it. About 500 shots through it and most of those came on one day. So what did I do? I bought a nice lens for it to replace the kit lens. The kit lens is ok, and it performs admirably, but it isn't the best lens by any stretch of the imagination.

Welcome the Sigma f2.8 18-50 lens to the family. I took it out yesterday morning for some downtown Huntsville photos and then some actual street photography. I love it! It's light, responsive, and from what I can see on the LCD, it is incredibly sharp. I plan to work on those photos today and hope to share them very soon!
