January Competition
It has been a while since I have written here at length. It’s been a busy month, most notably a new job, and then new goals. Toss in some miserable winter weather to make it not entirely conducive to outdoor photographer. And yet I have not managed to find a moment for any indoor photography projects.
Anyway, my trip to the Lofoten Islands of Norway is just over a month away and I’m excited to travel again. I am planning to spend a few days in Scotland with friends, and wandering around the area. After that, I have no idea what my year will look like. I have a work trip to Hawaii at some point, but my limited PTO with my new job will keep personal trips to a minimum.
With that being said, the real reason for this post would be the local club’s competition for January. I entered four photos, two color digital, one black and white digital, and one color print. My color print of Alum Hollow Falls in Fall placed 2nd in color print with no other photos placing. It was a tough competition, around 90 color photos in all entered, and around 75 black and white photos. Very happy with the results though. I believe this puts me a single point shy of being silver in the club, and then 21 points shy of being gold. Both are achievable this year! Here are my entries.
