2026 Competition Themes

The 2026 competition themes for the local photography club have been released and I have my work cut out for me. There are several themes I just don’t have much experience with: street photography, still life, and portraits. I’m already getting some ideas down on paper and I have several photos selected for January’s theme of Leaves/Petals. I’ll share those in the days leading up to the competition. Until then, here are the 2026 themes.

  • Jan–Leaves/Petals

  • Feb–Patterns

  • Mar–Open

  • Apr—Close-up/Macro

  • May—Architecture

  • Jun—Portraits of People

  • Jul—Open (Only Photos Taken After 4/1/2026)

  • Aug—Street Photography

  • Sep—Still Life

  • Oct—Open

  • Nov—Action
