Film

Stop me if you’ve heard this before, “I’m not buying any new gear”. Well, we know that’s always a lie. Occasionally I will sell off some unused stuff, but I can’t seem to quit buying new stuff. That said, my bag collection has been whittled down to only the bags I use and like, and my tripods all have a use. But I never can seem to resist the urge to buy something new to try out. So what does that have to do with the title of this blog entry? It means I bought a cheap film camera.

I bought a Kodak Snapic A1 35mm film camera and 2 rolls of Kodak ColorPlus to try out. I have never owned a film camera, not that I can remember. So I thought this might be fun to try out, see how I like it. In all, about $120 for all of that. Then I will have to have the images processed, so maybe $150 to test it out.

At this point, I see it as a nostalgia thing, not an “all in obsession” I am apt to do. Currently charging batteries and hope to get out tomorrow to get some photos with it. I am sure if any look ok, they’ll be shared here.
